John named "Most Oustanding Blues Singer!"
August 10, 2010

Singer John Németh can add another award to his growing list of achievements. He was announced as the winner of the 2010 Living Blues Award for "Most Outstanding Blues Singer." Németh was selected in a vote by the readers of Living Blues magazine, the highly-respected, and oldest, publication in the world dedicated to the genre.

The accolades for Németh have been piling up ever since his 2008 Blues Music Award Nomination for "Best New Artist Debut" for his first national release on Blind Pig, Magic Touch. He's been creating an ever growing buzz among critics and fans across the country (as well as in places such as Moscow and Beirut) with his gripping stage performances and soulful vocals notable for their power, passion, and their range.

The latest honor from the readers of Living Blues reaffirms the view of music critics who have said Németh "might be the best white R&B singer on the planet" (Jazz-Blues Report) and that "he sings this peculiarly American black classical music as well as any blue-eyed soul man on the planet right now" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). Noted critic Lee Hildebrand (features writer for the San Francisco Chronicle and Living Blues) opined that "Németh is with little doubt the most accomplished male vocalist of his generation traveling the blues highway today."

Németh's new Blind Pig release (Name The Day!) has been in the top ten of the Billboard blues chart, which is based on Soundscan sales, and topped the Roots Music Report's Blues Chart, which reflects radio airplay. The singer said of the prestigious award, "It's a huge honor to be recognized by Living Blues and its readers."
